Director Bill Condon – who is currently attending the Toronto International Film Festival, has revealed that he has a supercut version of both Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Breaking Dawn Part 2

via Collider.com – Although he was in attendance at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival to talk about his great new film The Fifth Estate, when I spoke to director Bill Condon at the press junket, I landed an interesting bit of news about his last two films, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Parts 1 and 2. Even though there’s a huge box-set for the complete series coming out this fall, Condon revealed the existence of his own personal cut of the last two films that merge them into one, epic supercut. He says this was to combine both parts into one movie to be more like reading the final Twilight novel in a single issue, and for fans who might be interested in seeing it. Unfortunately, there’s no word on just when this supercut will see the light. Hit the jump for more.

Here’s what Condon had to say about this alternate cut of the last two films. If you’d like to read his quotes, it’s below the video. If you’d like to see this version of the film leave a comment. I’m sure at least a few people at Summit/Lionsgate will see the story. You never know what can happen.

Collider: There’s a huge Twilight box-set coming out later this year. Have you done anything for it? Did you contribute anything?
Bill Condon: Well, I think we did so much for the extended edition of [The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1], I think there’s probably extra stuff on [The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2], although not additional scenes, unfortunately, because that movie is so unbelievably visual effects heavy, it would cost a ton of money to actually create the environment for some of those extra scenes. But, I do have a kind of version of those two movies cut into one movie that is not going to be there, but I hope one day might emerge. I think it would be an interesting experience for those who are really into it.

When you say you have a new version, are there a lot of things different, or is it just one cut?
No, it’s just one cut. There are obviously adjustments you have to make and rearranging some of the stuff. Just making it into one seamless thing, making it feel more like the original novel.

Did you do that while editing [The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1]?
Condon: Yeah, I did it before we shut down the editing room.

This is interesting, I’m surprised that Summit hasn’t come around and said, “Let’s release that as a double feature in select theaters.”
Condon: Right, yeah. It’d be interesting. Maybe that’ll happen.
